Converse high tops for spring

Did you know that we are now literally one block from our farmers market? It’s Gemma’s favorite Saturday morning thing because there’s a lady who makes really good cookies and Gemma always talks me into making one. Am I saying that we are the people who go to the farmer’s market for the baked goods and not the produce? I’ll never tell. But this is an outfit that screams Saturday at the Farmer’s Market to me. I have my comfortable sneakers on, my comfortable Dress and my bag, all ready for the goodies that we find. Oh, but I should say comfortable but chic. That’s my motto these days:It’s never not elegant. Even when seeking comfort, I must keep the N.N.C. intact code.

‘Wait a full minute here Kendi, are you telling me Converse is Fancy?’Because yes they are. Converse are all the rage right now and luckily for us they are comfortable, classic and very affordable. Picked up a pop of color in this high Top? You know I did it! 2022 is all about color and I love the light Purple pop. But of course, you can’t go wrong with the classic Black or White high Top too! If this is your first time trying high Top sneakers, go for White to fit this look. If you’re more into low-cut sneakers, don’t worry, those are stylish too! They are next on my list for spring. (Find low top Converse here!)

Like I said, I love all cakes. I can keep my shoes pretty conservative when it comes to color, but all these pale Blues, Pinks, and purples get me excited about color. I’ve rounded up my favorite Nordstrom Converse below!

A style note: high Tops can be a bit tricky to style. For me, I like to pair them with skinny jeans or straight-leg jeans that hit just above my ankle, so the break is at the top of the shoe. That will give you the best proportions for a high top shoe. With this Dress, even though it’s a Midi, the slit allows more legs to show, so I styled this look with a loose, open drawstring on my high Tops. If I were to wear them with jeans or Shorts, I would tie them normally!
